What is therapy?
Therapy addresses an individual’s concerns or problem areas affecting or interfering in various areas of life, which may include: Family Relationships, Social Life, Academics, Place of Employment, Parenthood, Marriage or Intimate Partner, and other important areas of your life. Therapy helps sort out and gain valuable insight about self and others. Through the therapy process a vital goal is to DISCOVER that YOU MATTER!

HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST? I'M NOT SURE IF I CAN AFFORD IT.
This varies. I want to challenge to think about the self-investment you will make to improve your life. Licensed therapists are specifically trained through a counseling program at an accredited college. Licensed therapists have either obtained a Masters Degree or higher.
I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE IN THERAPY THE LAST TIME, SO HOW DO I KNOW IT'S GOING TO WORK FOR ME NOW?
It's sad to know that therapy provided a bad experience for you. Be encouraged to always 'therapist shop'. Just like you shop for the clothes that fit you well, it's the same thing with therapist shopping, you want to make sure you and a therapist fit well and are a good match. Some therapists offer free consultations. Be encouraged to write down questions to ask the therapist during your consultation.
I CAN JUST TALK TO MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, OR PARTNER FOR FREE. WHY DO I NEED THERAPY?
Though talking with friends, family, and/or intimate partner is a great resource, a fully licensed therapist is a professional who is:
**Therapists are mandated reporters and confidentiality is waived in certain situations.
- Specifically trained in and graduated from a Masters or Doctorate level counseling program
- Passed a national test
- Successfully completed their state level requirements to become a therapist.

What if I have a good therapy consultation and I'm still not sure if I'm ready to do therapy?
You always have the right to choose when you're ready. Therapy challenges you to look in the places you either hide or unaware of. When you're ready to improve the quality of your life is when you're ready to proceed forward.
